Billy's Auto Repair & Towing are great people to deal with. With my kids off in college in Gainesville, Florida and me being in Atlanta, Georgia it was hard to look for somewhere to get their vehicle repaired. Searched a couple of places but Billy's came up a couple times so I called and spoke with Billy. Very professional and understanding with what I needed. Did such a great job that we have been repeat customers. Billy and his team have taken care of our sons Honda Accord and kept it going for years to come. From the A/C to light transmission work. Finding an honest mechanic is hard! As a woman, I was always worry about being taken advantage of and being told my flux capacitor needs a tune up. With Billy's, I don't have to worry. I drop my car off when it's convenient and can even pick it up after hours. It's good to know that there are not only good, honest mechanics still around, but genuinely good people too.

Billy is the most HONEST and CARING automotive shop have ever used! This time he inspected my car because of a concern I had. He declared that it was fine. He DID NOT CHARGE ME! I wouldn't go anywhere else! The door on my van broke off and Billys took the time to take it off, see what was wrong, then put it back on again! Because I had a trip planned and couldn't leave my van there until the part arrived, he suggested I just pick the van up and come back when I had time- all for no charge! They really just care about their customers. Ended up getting an oil change that was quick and affordable. These people are certainly mechanics you can trust!

I am disabled and need my car to pick up food, go to doctor appointments, get my medication....It a very necessary thing for me. One night a neighbor knocked and showed me that one of my tires was flat...oh, oh. My car had been sitting because something was wrong with the shift lever. Now I really needed to find a car shop. I remembered my one meeting at Billy’s when my last car was towed and it was a lost cause, but everyone was so courteous that I promised myself that I would try this shop again. I am so happy that I did! Billy cantow cars in, but I have Geico, so that wasn’t an issue; Billy called me, told me the problem, quoted a price and went to work. It was aas went to a difficult problem, but he kept at it, reassuring me when I called to check in. I crossed my fingers and waited. When I went in to get my car, I was delighted to find the problem WAS fixed the bill was reasonable and within original quote and I was grateful. The office staff is very pleasant and Billy is a very Christian person; he has a good heart. You would do yourselves a favor to try out this repair shop! Women too, can rely on NOT getting ripped off (as many OTHER garages tend to do.) I highly recommend BILLYS REPAIR SHOP. ITS EASY TO FIND AND YOU WILL BE PLEASED,

It's so hard to find honest mechanics who do good work at a reasonable price and shoot you straight about what you need and what you don't, but Billy's Towing is one of the good ones. Billy explained everything to me and gave me his recommendations, but never made me feel pressured or dumb. Highly recommended.

Absolute best mechanic in all of Gainesville, FL! I went to Billy's after going to a different mechanic the previous day, one who charged me $50 for a preliminary check (telling me things I already knew), and then tried to charge me almost $500 for a full diagnostic. I called around town and found Billy's Auto Repair and spoke to Billy himself, who told me they always perform diagnostics for free. I dropped my car off in the morning the next day and a few hours later, Billy and his crew called me after performing a full diagnostic. They fixed the issue, and before I knew it, my car was ready for pick up. Billy and his wonderful staff are kind, personable, and efficient! I cannot recommend this mechanic enough, I will be returning again and again for any future car needs!

My car died during the stay at home order and I needed to get it fixed quickly because I have a job that is considered essential. Within an hour Billy's tow truck picked up on car, Billy called me less then two hours after and said I needed a new car battery. He was able to replace the car battery, change the oil in my car at my request, and provided a quote for another part that I needed to have replaced. I don't have another car and had no way to pick my car back up and so he offered to bring it back since one of his drivers would be passing by my house to go to another client. All of this happened within four hours!! Best and fastest service I have ever received from an auto repair shop! I will be continuing to support this local business for all my car needs! - Savanna T.

A loss of turbo power in an F250, while pulling a travel trailer, caused an immediate exit from I-75. My husband, myself, and our two dogs, drifted into the parking lot of a gas station, where smoke billowed from the tail pipes. Shannon showed up with the tow truck, was polite, courteous, extremely helpful, and saved the day for us. We ended up with his kindness and professionalism being the memory of the weekend. My brother was in a car wreck and his car was towed by Billy's. The tow truck driver was great (made a bad situation slightly bearable). Since my brother lives out of town, I went to Billy's to pick up some of his stuff. Billy personally escorted me to the car, helped me remove the license plate, etc. He was extremely congenial. We called every locksmith company in the book before calling Billy’s, and Jordan was with us in 10 minutes and stuck with our malfunctioning door handle for over an hour before we got it opened. Shannon drove 80 miles on a rainy Tuesday during rush hour traffic to rescue me off I-75 after my engine blew out. Very considerate, and the guys at the shop were very frank with me in explaining that my car was dead as a door nail. Didn’t mess around, and only charged me for the tow! Set me up with a referral for a salvage yard in town and was able to get my car sold and taken away within the week. I called several towing companies when I needed to have my daughter's scooter towed to the repair shop, and I decided on Billy's after looking at online reviews and speaking with Billy. They sure did not disappoint! Billy's was more reasonably priced than the other towing companies, and our tow truck driver, Bill, was there in about half an hour and gave us a call when he was close by so we wouldn't have to wait in the parking lot. Bill was super nice, professional, capable and friendly, and he took the time to ensure my daughter's scooter was well secured in a manner that would not cause any more damage to the frame, which was damaged in an accident. Fantastic!! Called for assistance and the gentleman was amazingly pleasant on the phone (answering a list of questions). Tow truck driver was to me within 10 minutes. So I just bought this conversion van in southern Florida. And I'm gonna drive it back to Appleton WI. Van was running like a champ and then. Boom. It shut off. I called Billy's auto repair. They came over with there brand new roll back. Loaded up me and the van. Took us to their shop. The driver had called ahead so there were 2 mechanics waiting to get rite on my van. I had a flat tire the other day and was stranded on 75. I called and spoke with a gentleman named Shannon. He was pleasant on the phone and arrived within the time limit he had given me (if not sooner it seemed like lol). He was so very helpful and pleasant upon arriving and got us up and loaded on the tow truck in what seemed like seconds. He towed us to a shop where we were able to get another tire. The entire ride was very pleasant and soothing considering we just got stranded on the side of the busy highway. I would highly recommend Billy’s. I'd just come home from work and was parking my car when I accidentally drove over the cement block at the top of the parking spot. I was unable to back up over it given that there was a change in the elevation of the parking spot and the soft ground in front of it. Long story short, Bill drove out to help me and had everything taken care of in no time! I spent hardly any time waiting and once there he was so kind and professional. I needed a tow from my kids school to home and it was hassle free with Bill's Auto. Not only was Billy's Auto Repair and Towing helpful they were efficient. The whole process was roughly 30 minutes. The driver Bill and the office manager Bob were both understanding, patient, and resourceful. Bill was knowledgeable and took the extra time to make sure my van was secure in the drive way once home. My wife’s car broke down the other day due to a bad starter . My normal choice for repairs was always tires plus but I needed it towed. After calling around I reached Billy’s tow and auto repair. Not only did they have my car on the hitch within 38 minutes, they had a brand new starter and the car back to my wife the same day . Literally the best place you can get your car fixed!!!! I have never seen such a pleasant, wonderful staff such as the ones that work at Billy’s!!! They are absolutely cordial and are willing to do just about anything to provide you with great customer service. When it comes to prices, it is almost guaranteed that you will not find anything CHEAPER around town!!! As a college student, I appreciate their affordable prices the most!! I’m a college student here in Gainesville and finding a mechanic to go to who is trustworthy has been such a struggle until I came across this place. Last week my car overheated and I took it in to a mechanic I was previously going to, and they said my car had both fans broken and needed $1000 in work done. I came to Billy’s and had Chad (one of the mechanics) take a look at it. He told me there was absolutely nothing wrong with my car and both fans were functioning perfectly. His words exactly were “we’re not the type of place to tell you something is wrong with your car just to get some money, when there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.” If you’re looking for a mechanic whose word you can trust, GO TO BILLYS!!!!! This yelp review is a tad bit late but I just want to give a huge thank you to Shannon and talk about how much Billy's towing helped me. I had just moved here from Oregon and got a flat tire in a shopping center. No big deal, thought I would try and change it but the short version is everything that could go wrong did. I ended calling Billy's for some help and Shannon was there promptly. What an amazing guy! He ended up putting our spare on which happened to not have a lot of air either. Shannon followed us to the gas station to make sure we made it to air it up. I just wanted to say thank you so very much for all of your help that day! I've never had a better experience with a towing company before. I got a flat tire from a pothole and Billy's was there within 15 minutes. They gave me a great rate and told me they could fix my car at their shop. I got a call the next day saying that they couldn't fix my tire because they did not have the right machine for the size of my tire. Everyone here is extremely friendly and helpful ! My car just randomly shut off while driving so i didnt know what to do. I am new to gainesville so i did not know anyone to call for help but i got extremely lucky when i called them for help. they sent a tow truck and within 10-15 minutes they had my car at the shop. Not very long after i received a call explaining what went wrong and what they could do to fix it at a very affordable price. The next morning my car was ready f...or pickup just in time so i did not have to call out of work. Since i am a female student i was worried about the typical shop stereotype of being taken advantage of for not knowing a thing about cars. This is not the case with them. they are very honest. They told me what my major problems were with the car and explained to me which ones were minor that did not need to be fixed right away. i can not say enough great things about Billy and the amazing crew that works there. everyone i encountered were very polite and friendly.
